Join us in the garden. We plant, weed, water, and harvest together. All skill levels welcome — if you can dig, you can help.
Workdays happen at our community garden sites across Indianapolis. Bring gloves if you have them. We'll have tools.

We create service opportunities for Master Gardeners and other volunteers who want to put their skills to work in the community.
Volunteer roles include garden maintenance and supporting our education programs. Master Gardeners are especially welcome.

Registered classes
Hands-on classes carry a $10 registration fee, which reserves your spot. The fee is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible. If cost is a barrier, contact us — we don't turn anyone away.
From seed to plate — together.
Get your hands in the soil. This class takes participants on a full journey from planting and tending a garden to harvesting, preparing, and sharing a meal made from what they grew.
Participants work in community garden plots, learning organic growing techniques, seasonal cooking, and the basics of food preservation. No prior gardening or cooking experience needed.

May the best dish win.
It's a friendly throwdown in the kitchen — and everyone eats. Teams go head-to-head with a mystery basket of seasonal ingredients, a time limit, and zero rules about what counts as a winning dish. Creativity encouraged. Trash talk optional.
Each session is a structured but seriously fun cooking competition. Teams are formed on the spot, ingredients are revealed at the start, and a panel of community judges (read: hungry volunteers) decides the winner. No culinary degree required — just a willingness to get a little messy and have a great time.

Understanding what you eat changes everything.
This class is about building a real, practical relationship with food — not diets or rules, but knowledge. We cover how to read a label, how to cook on a budget, how to make vegetables taste good, and why it matters.
Designed for all ages and community groups. We offer standalone workshops and multi-week series that can be brought into schools, community centers, and other organizations.
