Privacy Policy

Culinary Earth Educational Foundation Inc
Effective September 22, 2026

Culinary Earth Educational Foundation Inc ("Culinary Earth," "we," "us") is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 33-2585981). We operate culinaryearth.org. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We are a small organization. We collect very little, we do not sell anything about you, and we would rather tell you plainly what happens than bury it.

Information you give us

Contact form. Your name, email address, the topic you select, and your message.

Volunteer form. Your name, email address, phone number, the areas you're interested in, your general availability, anything else you choose to tell us, and — if the volunteer is under 18 — the name of a parent or guardian.

Announcement list. If you ask us to let you know when a new season is announced, we collect your email address.

Class registration. The class you choose, the participant's name, a contact email and phone number, food allergies and dietary restrictions, an emergency contact, whether you consent to photographs, and — where the participant is under 18 — the name of a parent or guardian.

Donations and registration fees. Payments are handled on a checkout page hosted by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes your payment information. We never see or store your full card number. We receive the information Stripe passes back to us: your name, email address, the amount, the date, and whether a gift is one-time or monthly. If you give by Zelle or check, we receive what your bank provides, such as your name, the amount, and any memo.

Information collected automatically

Our website is hosted on a platform provided by GoDaddy and delivered through Cloudflare. When you visit, the platform records standard technical information — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time of visit, and the referring site — and sets cookies to measure visits. We use this only to understand general traffic. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it for advertising.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

What we do with it

We use what we collect only to:

  • Answer your message or volunteer inquiry
  • Register you for classes and tell you about the sessions you signed up for
  • Keep participants safe — allergy and emergency-contact information goes to the session lead and whoever is cooking, and no one else
  • Process donations and fees, send receipts and acknowledgment letters, and keep the financial records a charity is required to keep
  • Tell you when a new season is announced, if you asked us to
  • Understand in general terms how the website is used

That's the complete list.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, for any price.

We do not rent, trade, or share our donor or mailing list with other organizations, including other nonprofits.

We do not use your information for advertising. We run no advertising campaigns and no ad-targeting or retargeting pixels.

We do not send you email you didn't ask for. If you contact us, register, or donate, we'll write to you about that specific thing. We won't add you to our announcement list unless you asked, and you can ask to be removed at any time.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of outside services to run the organization. Each receives only what it needs:

ServiceWhat it handles
GoDaddyWebsite hosting, site analytics, and email hosting
CloudflareSecure delivery of the website
Microsoft 365Our email mailboxes
Stripe, Inc.Donations, registration fees, receipts, and management of monthly gifts
ReamazeStorage of messages and form submissions — contact, volunteer, registration, and announcement signups

Each has its own privacy policy governing its own systems. We may also disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent physical harm to someone.

Children

Our programs welcome people of all ages, including children. Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from a child under 13.

When a child takes part in a program, we collect their information from a parent or guardian at registration — not from the child. We limit it to what we need to run the program safely: the participant's name, allergies and dietary restrictions, an emergency contact, and the parent or guardian's name and contact details.

Photographs of minors are taken only when a parent or guardian consents on the registration form. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing us; we will stop using new images and remove existing ones from our own website and materials where we reasonably can.

If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep things

  • Contact and volunteer messages — up to two years, then deleted
  • Announcement list — until you ask to be removed
  • Registration records — the program year plus three years, for grant reporting and insurance
  • Donation records — at least seven years, as tax and charitable-accounting rules require

Security

We use reputable hosted services, limit who inside the organization can see registration and donor information, and do not store payment card data at all. No organization can honestly promise information is perfectly safe. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can email us and ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, delete your information, or remove you from our announcement list. We'll do it. The one limit is that we must keep donation records required for tax purposes.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, Culinary Earth is not subject to Indiana's Consumer Data Protection Act. We extend the rights above to everyone regardless.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. If we start doing something with your information that this version doesn't describe, we'll say so on the website and, for anyone on our list, by email.
